The Bridge Adventure Program at Texas Tech University is now accepting applications for its next two-year cohort.
Bridge Adventure is a program led by faculty in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources to create educational opportunities designed to promote leadership development in agricultural and natural resources fields through transformative learning experiences related to the natural environment.
The two-year program features adventure excursions, mentored research, and a service-learning trip. These high-impact learning experiences will be designed to help students build community, develop an appreciation for the outdoors and natural environment, and connect with regional partners to develop skills for their future careers.
The Bridge Adventure Program is open to undergraduate students of all majors at Texas Tech University, including incoming freshmen with an undeclared major. Students can apply at BridgeAdventureTTU.com. Following a review of applications, students will be invited to participate in in-person interviews on campus with Bridge Adventure faculty leaders and program members. The next cohort will be selected in November 2025, begin in January 2026, and finish following the summer 2027 excursion.
Eligible students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours, be in good academic standing throughout the program, and must be able to complete their two-year cohort experience before graduating with an undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University.
Bridge Adventure holds monthly activities and experiences during the academic semester. These can include weeknight meetings, overnight weekend camping excursions, and weekend daylong activities. Participants selected for the program are expected to participate in all activities.
A new feature of the program starting with the 2026-2027 cohort is the introduction of a Bridge Adventure-specific course. While this course will not meet every week like other courses, it will include the scheduled monthly activities, meetings, and excursions associated with the program. Students selected for the program will enroll in a 1-hour special problems course that will apply to their unique degree program on campus. Bridge Adventure participants will receive a scholarship to offset the tuition cost of the program course.
Bridge Adventure is a federally funded program; therefore, participation comes at no cost to the students, other than a commitment of their time. Applications will be accepted through September 2025.
